The CEDES has been carrying out research on services since the early 1970s in the wider context of the study of the role of services on productive system. The majority of studies concerned with the relationships between services and space relate particularly to the fololowing themes :

• Proximity constraints and typologies of services,
  

• Structure fo services supply and urban differentiation,
  

• The internationalization of service firms : management methods and explanation of development,
  

• Service potential and development processes.
