The Research Center in Business coordinates a national network on service research. Topics include:

• Innovation and services, innovation policy
• Internationalisation of services (cross-border trade, foreign affiliates trade etc.), outsourcing/offshoring of services
• Service industries and socioeconomic development, especially focusing on the knowledge economy
• The framework of economic and social policies that have impact on the service sector
• Indicators and measurement methods related to service sector development
• Entrepreneurship
• Business ethics and social responsability
• Risk analysis for business

An ongoing service project is:„ Getting Benefit of Romania’s competitive potential in the field of services” a research grant, which is financed by Romanian Government. This project has the following objectives:
• theoretical knowledge related to services
• the estimation of actual service developments in Romania, and regional differences in relation to the European Union;
• Analysis of services industry key indicators (identifying the competitive and comparative benefits for Romania);
• understanding the impact services have on the economy, including a better evaluation of services role in knowledge economy;
• the development of a methodology to evaluate the effects of service liberalization;
• identifying Romania’s competitive potential in the field of services.
